Sow and reap

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Whenever you find yourself in any bashful situation, just shut your eyes and get a good sleep, if you have the chance to. If you have more time, lock yourself up and just rest. Talk to Him, sleep, get up, continue your conversation with Him, sleep until you feel you are all right to face the world again.

What you need to sow: time and pain.

What you reap: insights, peace and clear-mindedness.

These days, it is difficult to get a good sight of the sky, a full view one that is, nevermind the bad air quality for now, since to wish for a full + clear view within these few months seems an arduous challenge.

However, if you are anywhere in the Klang Valley, Bukit Tabur is still a great spot. A surprising fact is that a perfect sky view is more available in KL than in Klang. Try travelling along MRR2 and Kesas though, and you will wish that the trip never ends, especially in the direction towards Klang when the sun sets.

As much as the scenery captivates though, do pay great attention on the road and driving. If you are a passenger, just soak in the glorious transcending event.

I am thankful for the clouds as they are.

God Bless!

Ideologies

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Ideologies represent sets of ideas that people have of an ideal world. It is intriguing to learn that when you are introduced to an ideology, particularly one with many a great logical explanation, it seems very attractive and convincing, that your mindset may tend to sway towards actually accepting it. Accepting is easier than rejecting.

Humans probably cannot resist conformity because conformity makes movements and actions more organised, which may bring about unmessiness or regularity or form a comfort zone.

That may not be the case entirely, though, subjectively looking at it because undeniably, everyone has their way of reacting and everyone has the ability to come up with any idea at all.

Dissecting this subject brings me to the most recent set of thoughts I came across the past week. It is that which belongs to none other than Osho. He was a great thinker of the 20th century, yet a very controversial one too. But then again, which thinker has not been controversial? Which thinker has not been challenged before? Even the words of God, the words of Jesus are still challenged up to this very day.

I will talk more about Osho when I have more time to do so. I found his thoughts disturbingly fascinating. At times, I wondered if he had gone out of the limits of thinking, but there is no separating the genuineness of his opinions and the facts of living. I do not say life because life is too stagnant a term. Living is ever-changing, ever-evolving.

On another issue, it is riveting to learn of Ellen’s marriage to Portia. While it used to be a fallacy for many gay couples to even dream of a legal wedding, hopes may live longer after all. While it used to be a shame to announce publicly such sexual orientation, it is a pride for the happily wedded couple now. All in the name of joy.

There are many areas that all of us can look into to discover that joy. Joy has always been with us, it is up to us to look inside and see it.

God Bless!
